Nestled in Bongaree on Bribie Island lies a hidden gem. Grow Plant Nursery and Garden Centre is a local secret that once found, is never forgotten. Open 7 days a week, we are located in the Bongaree Village Shopping Precinct at 17 First Avenue, Bongaree. Grow Plant Nursery has become part of the friendly Bribie Island community where we are proud to be involved in the stewardship of the island’s natural ecosystem and create lasting connections with our local gardening enthusiasts.
Grow Plant Nursery’s mission is to sell healthy, hardy plants that will have the best chance of thriving in their new homes by using eco-friendly principles to nurture our plants. Our plants are grown outdoors, not in shade houses, and are treated with Grow Organic Bio Organic Liquid Fertiliser to build up the soil’s microbiome. These good soil bugs consume the carbon found in common garden mulch and bark chips, and release the elemental nutrients the plants need to grow.
Local plants for local gardens
At the heart of Grow Plant Nursery's business is our unwavering commitment to cultivating hardy, healthy plants that are perfectly suited to the Bribie Island climate. All of our plants are displayed outdoors in the elements and are acclimatised to Bribie Island’s variable weather conditions to cope with the coastal environment. They are either grown locally from seedlings or cuttings, or sourced from a select group of plant suppliers in South East Queensland. Where possible, we prefer to collect our plants directly from the growers so we can develop better relationships within the industry, pick up knowledge about the best conditions and products to cultivate specific species, and maintain control over the plants we accept.
Grow Plant Nursery stocks a wide range of healthy garden varieties such as shrubs, succulents, ferns, assorted pot plants, and flowering plants for sale, including an exciting range of local native varieties that are best suited to the beachside climate and salty groundwater. From hearty native plants that thrive in the island's microclimate to exotic blooms that add a touch of sub-tropical flair, our diverse selection ensures that every gardener can find the perfect addition to their patch of paradise.

Our commitment to eco-friendly gardening for happy, healthy plants
Grow Plant Nursery is an eco-friendly garden centre. All of our plants at Grow Plant Nursery are fertilised with Grow Organic Bio Organic Liquid Fertiliser to boost the natural composting process. If plants are unhealthy, chemically-produced fertilisers do not correct the underlying problem, which is the health of the soil, and this is why we believe that if the soil is the best it can be, the plants will thrive under local Bribie Island conditions.
By using a Ph-neutral fertiliser, we ensure a healthy growing cycle that is safe for all types of plants, and there is no problem with runoffs into waterways that can trigger algal bloom issues caused by chemical fertilisers. Grow Plant Nursery also stocks Katek soil conditioning products including potting mixes and fertilisers, as they employ an eco-friendly ethos with their manufacturing processes and work collaboratively with Grow Organic products. We also stock Brunnings premium range soil conditioning products including potting mixes and manures, and the David Grays garden pest management products too.
Catering to both seasoned horticulturalists and budding enthusiasts alike, Grow Plant Nursery is also popular amongst Bribie Island’s local gardeners for our huge range of pots, wall planters and planter boxes, potting mixes and bagged mulch, fascinating and unique garden art pieces, garden sculptures, and birdbaths that will turn your garden into your personal relaxation space.

Promoting sustainable gardening
